The volatile oil obtained by expression without the aid of heat, from the fresh peel of the fruit Citrus Limon L. Burmann filius or meyeri Y. Tan. It is thought to be a cross with a lemon and a mandarin or common orange. This lemon oil is a yellow with orange tint liquid having the characteristic odor and taste of the outer part of the fresh lemon peel. It has been processed by winterizing to remove the waxy substances that precipitate upon mixing with alcohol.
